I am going to report a cruel story as well as bad legal practice in my country. Please forward this to who may be interested in this.

In late June this year, there was a post of an abusing kitten on a cat website in China. While it was written in Simplified Chinese, the background shown indicated it was from Taiwan. The author was very pride about his fatal training of the little cat, namely capping the cat's head, feeding detergent powders, etc. The pictures showed that the cat was abused to death and the author boasted on and threatened his continuing trainings of other kittens.

This has been big news in Taiwan, because it is not only animal abuse but also "cross-strait" affairs. While the police sought to find the ip of this author, because this kind of cat abuse is regarded as misconduct ONLY in our legal system, it was not reinforced. With the shown pictures, 50 people walked around the whole city for a month, compared the views from the windows, and found the murderer. It was indeed intentional murder, but the fine is only 1500USD, for torturing any animals to death.

This made the headline evening news of 1st of August here in Taiwan. But the murderer was not even accused, and there were no laws to reinforce the punishment of fines, not to mention to force him open his door to seek other tortured kittens.
