Sheriff's Office: Mesa man tried to feed kitten to python by Adam Wolfe - Sept. 1, 2009 03:57 PM The Arizona Republic . A 28-year-old Mesa man was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty after video apparently showed him trying to feed a 6-week-old kitten to a python.
Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies arrested 28-year-old Jeremy Tuffly at his home near Princess Drive and Recker Road.
The arrest came after Sheriff's deputies received a DVD that depicted Tuffly throwing the kitten at the python in an attempt to get the snake to attack it, according to a Maricopa County Sheriff's Department press release.
The video goes on to show that after the python failed to eat the kitten, Tuffly killed it by kicking it across the yard.
Tuffly was booked at 4th Avenue Jail on suspicion of animal cruelty, a class six felony.
