We are a group of animal lovers from Taiwan. We are writing about recent newspapers report about the City of Seoul proposing of legalizing dog meat trading.
We strongly express our protest on this issue.
We respect that dog meat as a part of Korean culture. However, legalizing from a government position not only reinforces the idea of eating dog meat but also hurts the
image of the Korean government. It will bring a long term negative impact on our loving view of Korean cultural products such as movies, books, songs, etc.
Some of us have heard from American friends certain touching anecdotes about what they saw when they visited Koren. They reported seeing beautiful dogs with lovely
clothes and shoes on their paws. And the owners were walking them on the street.
This shows how much Koreans love their dogs , and they take care of them like their own babies.
We truly believe that legalizing dog meat is an unpopular decision from a western as well as a Taiwan point of view.
We sincerely hope you re-consider this proposal. Thank you for your kind attention.
